Terms of Use
Last updated November 2, 2026
These terms govern your use of Purl, the iPhone and iPad app developed by SparrowTek LLC (“we”, “us”). By using Purl you agree to them.
What Purl is
Purl is an independent, third-party client for tangled, the code forge built on the AT Protocol. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Tangled. Your account comes from your AT Protocol provider, and repositories, issues, pull requests and CI are provided by tangled and by the people who run each knot and spindle, under their own terms. Purl is a window onto those services.
Your account and your content
Your use of your account remains governed by your provider’s terms and by tangled’s. You are responsible for what you publish through Purl. Records on tangled are public and may be viewed, indexed and copied by services we do not control.
Actions on real repositories
Merging a pull request, deleting a branch, closing an issue, or retrying, cancelling or approving a pipeline changes real repositories and may run code on real machines. Purl asks you to confirm the actions that are hard to undo, but you are responsible for the actions you take, and for having the right to take them.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Purl to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, distribute malware, harass people, abuse the services Purl connects to, or break your provider’s or tangled’s terms.
Content from others
Tangled is full of content written by other people, and we don’t review it. To report content or an account, use the reporting tools on tangled.org or contact the operator of the knot that hosts it.
No warranty
Purl is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We don’t guarantee that the app, tangled or any knot, spindle or provider will be available, uninterrupted or free of errors.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, SparrowTek LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of Purl, including damages caused by content on tangled or the AT Protocol network, actions taken on repositories, or loss of data.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If you keep using Purl after a change takes effect, you accept the revised terms.
